Proposed one-way road conversion of Acacia Road in Kraaifontein

26 August 2024

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate would like to advise road users and businesses of the proposal to convert Acacia Road in Kraaifontein Industria into a permanent one-way road in a clockwise direction. The intention is to improve traffic flow during peak traffic periods and ensure access to businesses. The closing date for comments is 27 September 2024.

'The City is inviting residents and businesses to actively participate by sharing their views and expertise on the proposal to convert Acacia Road in Kraaifontein Industria into a one-way. Traffic congestion is having an impact on businesses that depend on walk-in trade with access to properties being currently restricted. Officials will collate and asses all input prior to moving forward with this proposal,' said the City's Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

In terms of Section 17 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, the public and interested parties or groups are given the opportunity to submit comments, recommendations or input on the traffic calming measures to the municipality from today, 26 August to 27 September 2024.
